Yemen's Houthi group claimed responsibility for three drone attacks on Israel carried out earlier on Friday, according to a televised statement aired by the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.
In the broadcast, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said the group targeted Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel, as well as two "military targets" in the southern cities of Ashkelon and Be'er Sheva. No further details were provided.
So far there has been no official response from the Israeli government.
Also in the statement, Sarea reiterated the group's threat to strike any vessel in the Red Sea linked to Israeli ports.
Earlier in the day, thousands of Houthi supporters held a protest demonstration in the capital Sanaa, denouncing the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza.
The demonstrators also showed support for the Lebanese Hezbollah party, urging the Lebanese government not to disarm Hezbollah.
The Houthi group, which controls large parts of northern Yemen including the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah port city, has been attacking targets in the Israeli cities and Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea since November 2023, demanding an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
