Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on Friday strongly condemned recent deadly airstrikes by Israel on targets in Lebanon.
He made the remarks in a statement over a series of Israeli airstrikes on what Israel calls Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon on Thursday, which killed one person and injured seven others.
Baghaei described the attacks as "flagrant violations of Lebanon's territorial integrity and national sovereignty," stressing that the number of Israel's violations of a 2024 ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah had neared 5,000.
He said the Israeli violations and attacks harmed citizens, destroyed infrastructure, and disrupted the reconstruction and economic development processes in Lebanon.
He also noted that the present circumstances resulted from the "inaction and constant appeasement" by the ceasefire's guarantors, namely the United States and France.
