Police busted a suspected drug storage warehouse, seized suspected heroin worth about $8.3 million, and arrested two men, including what is believed to be the mastermind of a drug trafficking syndicate.
Drug Investigation Unit officers raided an industrial building unit in Shan Tai Street, Ho Tan yesterday, seized about 14 kilograms of suspected heroin and arrested a 28-year-old man in the unit on suspicion of trafficking dangerous drugs.
After further investigation, police arrested a 33-year-old local man at a residential unit in Hang Cheng Road, Tseung Kwan O, on suspicion of conspiring to traffic dangerous drugs. Initial investigation believes that the man is the mastermind of a drug trafficking syndicate, which is suspected of recruiting others to traffic drugs online as a solicitation to "make quick money", including the 28-year-old man arrested earlier.
The two arrested will appear in Shatin Magistrates' Courts tomorrow.
