Over 1,900 people killed in Kazakhstan road accidents in 2025
Since the beginning of 2025, more than 29,000 road accidents have caused 1,916 deaths and over 40,000 injuries in Kazakhstan, the Kazinform news agency reported Friday, citing an official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
Deputy chairman of the MIA Administrative Police Committee Galym Sargulov said that the main causes of accidents -- speeding, driving into oncoming traffic, intoxicated driving and crossing the road in unauthorized areas -- remain unchanged.
The official noted the country's low level of traffic discipline, adding that police have recorded more than 12 million traffic violations this year.
