HK braces for an eight-degree temperature plunge tonight

Hong Kong residents should prepare to bundle up tonight as a replenishment of the northeast monsoon is set to trigger an eight-degree temperature drop across the city.



The Hong Kong Observatory reported generally fine weather across South China on Thursday morning, with urban temperatures hovering around 17 degrees to 24 degrees. 



However, Friday's temperatures are expected to plunge, as a nine-day weather forecast shows that the urban minimum will drop to 16 degrees, an eight-degree fall from Thursday's high .



Regional weather forecast also indicates temperatures in several districts will drop to around 14 or 15 degrees.



Ta Kwu Ling is expected to see the mercury drop as low as 13 degrees celcius
